One lazy Sunday afternoon Mom and I were talking about some recent event in the news. I can’t say we really knew much about it. I can well imagine Mom on her chair on the lanai, waving her hand as she said,
“If they don’t print it up on the sky over my backyard, I don’t know it.”
Actually, I don’t think that’s true. The television at my mom’s house is often on a news station preferred by my brother who shares her home. Sometimes Mom is the one to catch me up on current events.
And I think most of us know more than we realize we know about a lot of things. We might not feel like we’re experts, but neither are we completely ignorant. Even among my friends, I’m delighted to discover in conversation that one of them knows about an obscure process or historical detail.
Even if something is printed in the sky above my yard, I till have to look up and see it. I’m glad to have people in my life who help me do that.
I rely on my husband for news. I am gone so much of the day, I rarely have time to catch up. He is a great source of info!
